CAPTURE - PAINT - PROTECT
Francesca is a British ocean explorer, visual artist, and award-winning wildlife photographer and conservation photojournalist. Working across photography, film, painting, digital illustration, and writing, she believes that art has the power to save this planet. She has travelled the globe using art and photography to capture vital conservation and wildlife stories, focusing on the overlooked and untold stories of our natural world. Deeply curious about how visual communication can shift perspectives, her work often shines a spotlight on misunderstood creatures, habitats, and urgent environmental issues. For the past decade, she has highlighted the stories of bycatch, the illegal shark trade, coral restoration, wildlife migration and the vital rewilding efforts taking place on her doorstep in the UK.
ā
Beyond her creative practice, Francesca is a scuba diving instructor and freediver, passionate about connecting people with the underwater world. Her work has been recognised by the International League of Conservation Photographers, National Geographic UK, Vital Impacts, Photo Vogue, Ocean Photographer of the Year, and British Photographer of the Year, and she has collaborated with organisations including the Blue Marine Foundation, Netflix, UNOC and PADI.
ā
She is an Emerging League member for International League of Conservation Photographers (iLCP), a Girls Who Click Ambassador and is a mentee for the 2024-2025 Vital Impacts Environmental Photography programme under the mentorship of National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry.
ā
When not in the studio, Francesca can be found freediving along England’s south coast, revealing the hidden beauty of British seas and inspiring others to protect them.

“My desire for adventure, storytelling and creating personal connections with my subject matter drives my work. I believe Photography and Art are powerful medium's to communicate the natural world and also serves as an important catalyst to connect you, the viewer, to our incredible blue planet. Art opens the empathy door, inviting you into a world you may not have explored or to a place in your mind you have not investigated. I believe art is going to save this planet and it’s my mission to do just that!“
